What the result means
The Australian individual income year runs from 1 July to 30 June. 30 June 2026 is still 2025–26; 1 July 2026 is 2026–27.
How it is calculated
If month ≥ July, FY starts this calendar year; otherwise it started last 1 July
- FY label: Start year–last two digits of end year, for example 2026–27.
The bounds are always 1 July through 30 June inclusive.

Companies and substituted years
Some companies use a substituted accounting period. This tool is the standard 1 July year used for most individuals.
