What the result means

The Australian individual income year runs from 1 July to 30 June. 30 June 2026 is still 2025–26; 1 July 2026 is 2026–27.

How it is calculated

If month ≥ July, FY starts this calendar year; otherwise it started last 1 July
  • FY label: Start year–last two digits of end year, for example 2026–27.

The bounds are always 1 July through 30 June inclusive.

Assumptions

  • Standard individual income year. Not a substituted company year.
