Travel time calculator
Estimate driving time from distance and average speed. This is not live traffic.
What the result means
Time = distance ÷ speed. Average speed is lower than the speed limit once you include towns, lights and stops.
How it is calculated
Hours = km ÷ km/h
- Average speed: What you actually expect to average, not the posted limit.
Minutes are the fractional hour converted × 60.
Assumptions
- Estimates only — not tax, legal, credit or financial advice. Check the official source or your contract before relying on a figure.
- Constant speed, no breaks.
Worked example
180 km at 90 km/h
A highway leg.
- Time
- 180 ÷ 90 = 2 hours
If you only average 75 km/h, the same leg is 2 hours 24 minutes.
Not a maps ETA
Live traffic, roadworks and rest breaks are omitted. Pair with the fuel calculator for litres and cost on the same distance.
Questions
Can I enter miles?
