Understanding L/100 km
Australian windscreen stickers use litres per 100 kilometres. A lower number is better: 7.2 L/100 km uses less fuel than 9.0 L/100 km over the same distance.
Kilometres per litre is the inverse. 7.2 L/100 km is 100 ÷ 7.2 ≈ 13.9 km/L. Miles per gallon uses a different gallon and is not the same conversion.
